7/31のワークショップでは素晴らしいモデルさんを、5分、10分、20分で様々なポーズを描くということをしました。彼女は次回8/14のモデルドローイングワークショップでもモデルを努めてくれます。IID(世田谷ものづくり学校)で8/14に開催される3時間のドローイングワークショップです。詳細をIIDのサイトでご確認の上、メールでお申し込み下さい：roganhazard@gmail.com

このワークショップの目的は、限られた時間でスケッチをする練習、そのテクニックの学習、通常のドローイングワークショップでやっている内容(基本のフォーム構造とその描き方)を更に応用するよいチャンスです。生でモデルさんを見て、３次元で人物の形をとらえ、正しく簡潔に描くとても良い練習になります。ご自分のスタイルで描きたいという方も大歓迎です。

The 7/31 workshop featured a beautiful model, who posed for 5, 10 and 20 minute poses over the course of 3 hours. The same model will be back on 8/14 for the final workshop.

The purpose of the workshop is to practice the techniques taught in my regular drawing workshop while working from a live model: beginning with basic forms to resolve proportions and shapes while thinking 3-dimensionally, finally resolving contour lines. However, those who simply want to draw in their own style are welcome to take advantage of this opportunity to work from an excellent model. Register by sending a message to: roganhazard@gmail.com

キッズクラスは、リピーターの方向けの新しいキャラクターサンプルもご用意しています。
大人クラスは人体の構造バランスと花の描き方を取り上げます。

I'll be conducting drawing workshops for kids and adults on Sunday 7/10, 7/24, at Ikejiri Institute of Design(IID). There's still time to join tomorrow's workshop. Just send an email stating which workshop you would like to participate in to register.

The kid's workshop will begin at 1 pm and feature new characters to draw for repeat students and favorites of the workshop for first time students.

The adult workshop will cover drawing the figure, basics of perspective and drawing flowers.

実際のモデルを描く肖像デッサンのクラスです。

未曾有の事態となっていますが、皆様御無事でいらっしゃいますでしょうか。
今回の震災で多大なる被害を受けた方々に、心から御悔やみ申し上げます。

僕の家族、北関東出身の妻の親戚はお陰様で無事ですが、余震や原発も含めてまだま
だ安心出来ません。
今自分にできる事は何なのか、を常に考え実行しつつ、日々を地道にしっかり生活す
ることを忘れずに、勤めて参りたい所存です。

大震災の影響により、世田谷ものづくり学校での先月のドローイングワークショップ
は中止となりましたが今月24日(日)から再開と決定致しましたので、ご連絡です。

March Workshops Cancelled Due to the Earthquake of 3/11

The Ikejiri Institute of Design has, as a result of the earthquake that struck Japan on March 11th, decided to cancel all workshops and close the building for the rest of March. Therefore, my workshops scheduled for March 27 will not be held. It has not yet been decided whether IID will reopen in April, but I will post any information when I receive it. I hope everyone came through the earthquake safely and look forward to seeing you again when workshops resume.

大震災で、皆さんが元気でご無事であることを願います。日本では未だかつてないほどの地震と津波で、東北地方の方々の惨状は、本当に心が痛みます。I wish the best for everyone.

Toraya Calendar 1999

These illustrations were produced in 1998 for Toraya's 1999 calendar. The Art Director was Yukimasa Okumura. Toraya is a company with a more than 400 year history of producing Wagashi, which are beautiful and stylized sweets styled according to the season.
